Jennifer Gerholdt
President
Jennifer is Director of Client Strategy at Native, A Public Benefit Corporation, where she works with leading companies and brands on climate action. Jennifer also serves on the Board of the Scarborough Society at Shepherd University, and is a Trustee of the Board and Ally of Appalachia with the Center of Appalachian Studies at Shepherd. Jennifer has been active in Shepherdstown's library and literary scenes since moving here in 2016, and is delighted to be a part of the FOSL board.
Secretary
Rachel is a librarian and works as a Senior Product Manager at EBSCO Information Services, developing library research databases and workflow tools. She has lived in Shepherdstown since 2009 and enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, baking, and traveling. Rachel is excited to rejoin the FOSL board for her second tour of duty!
Kathy Loftin

Ross Patterson is the Treasurer for FOSL, handling all of its finances. He grew up one block away from a New York Public Library branch, and wants the youth of the Shepherdstown area to have the benefits it provided him. Ross has lived in Jefferson County since 2014, and is a retired software developer and manager.
Kathy works in Information Technology, primarily in the area of records management. She grew up serving as a regular cashier for the Montgomery County, MD library book sales and has a lifelong love of reading and libraries. She has lived just outside of Shepherdstown for years and has volunteered as a cashier at many of the library book sales over the years. She is happy to further support the library's wonderful programs by joining the board.

Jen is a retired school librarian who taught in Maryland and Maine, a Shepherd graduate, and an active grandma who loves reading to her grandkids and taking them to the library. She has lived in Jefferson County since 1994.

Kaitlyn is a health information technology attorney at a national law firm who has lived in Berkeley County (on the Shepherdstown side) since 2022. She joined the FOSL board because she has very fond memories of trips to the Otis Library in Norwich, Connecticut as a child.

John Barton joined FOSL in 2019 shortly after retiring from the Library of Congress and moving to Shepherdstown.
